THANK YOU!!!
I have to start off  by thanking everyone that was a part of making Downtown Days a huge success! We have received so much positive feedback and excitement from the community, downtown shops, and vendors. But first I would like to recognize our amazing committee. The following individuals have been volunteering their time since August to plan this wonderful event. I admire the hard work and dedication of these volunteers, because let’s face it, planning an event for over 80,000 people is quite the task!

City of Lee’s Summit, LS Police Department and Fire: Thank you for working with us and helping make sure that this was a safe and fun event for everyone involved. Other cities should be jealous of the great staff we have working here in Lee’s Summit.

Secondly, a huge thank you must also be given to our wonderful sponsors. Without the support from the following businesses, events like this would not be possible. We are so lucky to have such community minded businesses that see the value in events such as this.

The Downtown Days...Streets Alive Festival is coming to Downtown Lee’s Summit on June 6, 7 and 8. This festival spans six city blocks and will make the Downtown come alive with activities for all ages.

The festival planning committee prides themselves on thinking outside of the box and making this festival fun for everyone. All three days are jammed-packed with fun and unique events and activities.

“It just feels good to have our annual summer festival back,” said Gina Tominia, assistant director for Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street. “Now that our downtown has beautiful new streetscaping, we are ready to welcome back the 80,000-plus people who look forward to this event year after year — and we’re ready to show off just how good the Downtown looks. This festival has many elements of our traditional Old Tyme Days, but we have added new life to the event.”

The event is being presented by Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street in partnership with Verizon Wireless and Cumulus Radio. The mission of Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street is to promote downtown as the center of commerce, culture and community life for residents and visitors alike.
